Posted on April 15, 2010 at 4:11 PM

1992 'Land Vital Resource' 2 Rupees (km# A128 )

This coin was not released for general circulation and was said to be distributed only among the dignitaries in a conference held during the National Land Conservation Week. How many coins were minted by the Calcutta Mint is still being debated but it is believed to be less than 500 (two coins in a set).

Update (dt. 01/07/11): The Ministry of Finance, in response to a RTI petition filed by Mr. Gautam Arora, has revealed that this coin is not a legal tender as no Gazette notification was released for this commemorative coin.
