recently i came across some postings in Ebay selling the 1000 rupee proof coin set for as low as 6200/- , i am quite shocked by this, i believe these must be re-strikes of proof set, i request my fellow collectors to enquire with their local dealers and let me know the price of 1000 rupee proof coin set original strike .

i bought two proof sets when Mumbai mint released them for 4875,  even during release these coins were available on ebay for 6000, later it hit a peak of 9000 for proof set ,thats why im surprised by availability of these coins on e-bay for as low as 6500 now!!!!, can u guys please check with local coin dealers about current market price.

i have a 1000 ruppee proof set  as a completely unopened package as delivered by Mumbai Mint  through post, i feel it will add to the value of proof set when i auction it 20-30 years down the lane, please share your views !!!
