I CHECKED BUT THE GUNNY BAG CONTAINS ZIP POUCH COIN PACKETS, IN THATNO MINT CHECKING RECEIPT FOUND

That's strange. All the coin gunny bags with plastic packaged pouches inside that I have purchased so far had Assay Officer's QC receipts. I suspect for some reason these pouches were repacked at Bombay Mint.

NO I DON'T THINK SO

I HAVE 2005 1 RE BAG WHICH CONTAINS PLASTIC POUCH BUT NO RECEIPT OR PAPER IS INSIDE

AND ALSO FOR MINT IT'S A DOUBLE WORK IN PACKING IF IT'S MINT IN CALCUTTA AND REPACKED IN MUMBAI

BUT WHILE EXAMING THE COIN THE QUALITY IMPRISEN AND FINISHED SEEMED TO BE MINT IN MUMBAI ONLY

MAY BE THEY HAVE FORGETTEN TO PUT THE MINT MARK IN THE DIE

SIMPLE ANSWER

GO TO RBI

ASK FOR BAG

PAY THE AMOUNT

PURCHASE A BAG FULL OF COINS WORTH 12500 & WALK  OUT OF RBI

I work and stay in Bangalore, recently I took a day off and went to RBI branch here in the hope of getting some new coins that were put in circulation, but was late to reach and they had already closed by 2:30 :(

The Security Officer at the entrance told me that I need a valid business reason to get coins from RBI, and they dont give specific type of coins.

Is this true ?

Sorry for my second silly question :(

Well I guess the coin's origin will remain a mystery for now.

Also maybe our mints work differently assuming your 1 Rupee bag is from Hyd mint. My banks always get coins from Cal mint and I purchase one gunny bag of 5 & 2 Rupees each for my shops every month and sometimes 1 & 10 Rupees and find receipts in all of them. From 2009 onwards I haven't received any definitive coins in plastic pouches but I'm not sure if same applies for Cal mint packaged commemorative coins. I guess Bom & Hyd mint don't include assay officers receipt in their bags. Maybe someone else can confirm.

@Sujai The only silly question is the one not asked, so don't worry when questioning  ;)

Yes, the security officer is correct on both the points.

You need to state a specific need to take large quantities of coins from RBI or any other bank as far as I know. Its a safeguard to stop black marketers from hoarding coins but usually most people fake it as no proof is required.

Also you won't get specific coins from the tellers. Some friendly tellers might help you but usually they give out coins at their own discretion and don't entertain specific requests for commemorative coins.

I managed to get few Kolkata mint and Hyderabad mint C.Subramaniam coins from RBI Bangalore counter :)

But I found a listing for C.Subramaniam Noida mint in ebay a few days back.

Anyone came across a Noida mint C.Subramaniam five rupees coin ?

Suraj, how did you manage to get that at RBI? I've never tried but looks like it's worth trying.

Where is a office? address/contact no? and what are the timings?

RBI is at Nrupathunga Road near Majestic, near Corporation circle.

Open to public from Mon to Fri,  10 AM to 2PM... (I'm not too sure about the timings)

Thanks Suraj for the information. So you just drop by RBI counter and ask for specific coins or there is any other trick on that?
