That's interesting. There are no known varieties in 1943 1/2 Rupee but I suspect there might be large and small 3 (date) variety like the 1945 coins. Please post magnified pictures of both the coins for further research and clarification.

OK....I have edited your post to include the picture :)

Yes, from the picture it does look like a variety rather than an error because the fonts of 'Half' and '1943' also differ from each other.

If it's possible can you post obverse sides of the coins in the same order just to see if there are any variation.

FROM THE ABOVE STATED SITE I'VE SEEN THE PICTURES WHERE IT SEEMS TO BEAR  NOMINAL DIFFERENCES AS STATED EARLIER BY RONY. BUT, IT'S ALSO CLEAR THAT,   (i) THEY ARE FROM DIFFERENT MINTS - THE LEFT ONE IS FROM BOMBAY MINT & THE RIGHT ONE IS FROM LAHORE MINT & (ii) THE WORD "HALF" IS IN HIGHER POSITION & CLOSE TO THE UPPER PART OF THE CIRCLE IN "LAHORE" MINT THAN THE ANOTHER FROM "BOMBAY" MINT.

I don't have a Lahore minted 1943 1/2 Rupee to compare but I wonder if all the Lahore minted 1943 1/2 Rupee coins features this abnormality.

THE COMMENTS ARE BASED ON MY OWN OBSERVATION FROM THE PICTURES OF THE COINS GIVEN IN THE REFFERED SITE. I'M NOT SURE IF THE ABNORMALITIES  ARE ALREADY MENTIONED ANYWHERE OR NOT, IN THIS MANNER. ANYWAY THE "L" SIGN AT THE MINT-MARK POSITION CONFIRMS THAT IT'S FROM LAHORE MINT.
