The 1,2,5 and 10 Rupees coins from the set are going to be circulating commemoratives. RBI has announced that these coins are soon going to be released in circulation.

Several of our Facebook page members reported finding 1 & 5 Rupees coins but 2 & 10 Rupees coins are still proving elusive and available with dealers only as of now.

Thanks for the useful info Kunal :)

I don't have any details regarding dealers as I don't buy new coins. You can probably purchase them from Ebay right now but I will advise you not to buy modern coins for premium and wait till they are released in circulation ;)

Thanks Rony for your good advice. I'm not so eager to buy such a coin with premium which will be released soon, but, I'm eager to collect such a excibit which shows that before the official circulation starts, coins may be available in market for trading at a premium.

Indian commemorative gold coins won't be possible in my opinion unless Coinage Act is amended to accommodate higher denominations.

Yup, read that. It's good to know the bimetallic coins are indeed going to circulate as it was kinda worrying to see so many pieces with dealers alone all this time. Makes you wonder how come they get their hands on stuff even before coins are officially put into circulation
