It's not an official legal tender but a psuedo coin (fantasy coin) like the 1 Rupee coin of Indira Gandhi.

I think Rony put it very gently :)

That's outright fake coin. eBay is full of them.

Here are good links for other fake coins

That reminds me, I need to start another thread of sharing fake coins details that I personally came across. Will do that soon.

Thanks Ranjit for the right link for fake coins. It was pretty useful and gives a good understanding in differentiating genuine and fake coins

@Ranjit LOL....Yup, I put it very gently coz I love and collect psuedo coins too :D but sadly I don't have many because in India they sell for more than original coins due to lack of information among the collector community :(

P.S. Thanks for sharing those links and looking forward to another sticky thread by you :)

I couldn't agree anymore. In recent times, I was taken fancy by these fake coins and I thought of collecting some of them but cost of those coins in eBay is so high (as you said, much more than original coins) that I really couldn't afford. 1-2 fake coins that I have got in my collection are from my initial collection time when I was duped, yeah at eBay and in recent time some from flea market or some junk shops at affordable prices.

Well, I don't have so many that it could be sticky thread but I'll share whatever I've.
