Nope, but there was a 2/8 Rupees note during George V's reign.

If you are not sure about the authenticity of a note then look for TPG graded notes but unfortunately I don't know any dealer in India who offers graded notes.

Yup, your judgement is correct. Indira Gandhi series is famous for different varieties of creatively designed fantasy coins. You should buy Karuse catalogs of coins and bank notes as it helps collectors keep track of official issues. Also please create new topics for different types of bank notes and coin related question in future as the forum gets messy if the topic posts do not relate to the topic header. Cheers :)
