Can anyone guess what this coin will sell for in the Baldwin's auction coming up in 36 hours or less? Read more below.

 

 

 

 

 

You may compare the above most recent Baldwin's example for auction, look at all the other three examples below, and deduce what you may.

 

Here is some past price history, but the past may not mean anything.

As pictured below Baldwin's in September 2011 AU 50 Cleaned AU Details sold for $5,400 including the Buyers Premium

 

 

 

 

 

As pictured below the CNG example January 28th $7,893 lot number 413 which you may view in Auction #6

As pictured below the Todywalla example January 27th as well sold for $8,200 as lot number 528 from auction #59

Final hammer price was $10,620 = $9,000 bid + $1,620 (18 % Buyers Premium)

Next we will see the Heritage Auctions example which is graded an AU 55 by NGC, and is slated to to start pre-bidding on April 7th, and will go live from April 26-30th.

I was thinking ~7,000 but it sure went higher than that. Did you buy anything from this auction?

There is another 1939 rupee which will be up for auction from CNG India which is lot number 403 slated for sale April 22nd 2012


It will be interesting to see what this coin will sell for given the condition, and price estimate. It may not get absorbed. I've already trashed the slab/grading company in my previous commentary, but we shall see what transpires.
