I have rs 1 coin year 1947. but I want to know that  in 1947 there were coins except gilt coins. Means Rs 1 coins of silver with same specification as rs 1 coin of 1947 is having like lion and victoria photo.

queen victoria coins mintage was stopped in 1901 after the death of the queen,it mite be someone else, none of the coins minted after 1945 are silver, 1939-45 itself is around 50%silver,1946 nd 47 they are cupro-nickel, they are not of that high value.

1947 1 Re coin is cupronickel mix alloy and no silver.So,it must be a fake one.Thanks

Actually the  1947 is not cupro-nickel but pure nickel.  The 1947 Lahore mint Rupee in mint state (Uncirculated) is rare. Two mints produced these coins Bombay and Lahore. Coins produced by the Bombay mint has a dot under the date and Lahore mint has no dot.  The 1947 L Rupee has a mintage of $41 million but are very scarce in Unc.
